HOW CAN YOU KNOW GOD EXISTS?
If our reasoning ability is the product of chance, can reason's products be trusted? Are our thoughts and conclusions valid if we are the product of mindless, unguided processes? If we conclude there is no God, is that a reliable conclusion if our thought processes are the result of chance?
There are three explanations for the matter we see around us: nothing made matter, matter made mind, or Mind made matter. Is there a fourth?
The atheist dismisses the idea that God made everything out of nothing, preferring that nothing turned itself into everything.
MATHEMATICAL LAWS POINT TO GOD's existence
The natural world obeys mathematical laws, even though mathematics is independent of physical reality. Mathematics is formulated not by observing what actually goes on in the natural world, but without natural observations. How can a mathematician here on earth develop equations that fit the universe out there in the cosmos?
How can two distant objects in the solar system be drawn toward one another and behave to a precise mathematical law? Isaac Newton went nuts trying to figure out an answer. All he could say was: “It's the will of God". Despite gigantic leaps in modern physics, nothing new has been discovered to answer the question.
The physicist Roger Penrose said the universe is made up of three independently existing worlds: mathematics, the material world, and human consciousness. He couldn’t work out how these three can interact with each other - how can physical atoms create something that exists in the non-physical domain of human consciousness? That’s a mystery science can’t explain.
Mathematics is the reality that drives the universe. Its usefulness in natural science is a mystery, there’s no rational explanation for it. The existence of God is essential to understand the mathematical underpinnings of the universe. Galileo said “Mathematics is the language with which God has written the universe”.
HUMAN CONSCIOUSNESS POINTS TO GOD'S EXISTENCE
The supernatural character of the workings of human consciousness points to the existence of God. The workings of human consciousness is miraculous because it has no physical presence in the world. There are no measurable physical dimensions for the non-physical thoughts in our consciousness.
Our non-physical thoughts mysteriously guide the actions of our physical human body. It's impossible to explain this scientifically, and atheists avoid it completely. The inability to reconcile physical scientific materialism with non-physical human consciousness is so perplexing that one atheist (Daniel Dennett) thought it’s easier to just deny that consciousness even exists. The philosopher Thomas Nagel just rejected scientific materialism as a basis for understanding human existence.
We resort to Houdini-like contortions trying to solve life’s great mysteries, all without success. The answer was always there: “In the beginning God”. (Genesis 1:1)
